If you have any enquiries of a statistical nature, please contact us. Please note that under the current legislation, the Regulator may request an administrative fee if it deems it necessary for providing answers to statistics enquiries in order to recover the costs of providing the service.

COMMISSION'S ANNUAL STATISTICS RELEASES
The Annual Statistics Release was one of the key ways in which the Commission kept the public informed as to the activity of foreign investors and their applications to invest in New Zealand. Each report contains a summary as to the previous year's activity in terms of the number of consents granted and applications refused, the overall and net proposed amount of investment and the number of hectares of freehold and leasehold land involved. It reports on the biggest transactions for the year and provides several tables breaking down the year's totals by industry, country and New Zealand region, and compares these figures with the totals over the last five years.

COMMISSION'S SIX MONTHLY REPORTS TO PARLIAMENT
Under the Overseas Investment Act 1973, the Commission was obliged to inform parliament of its activity each half year. Similar to the Annual Releases, the six monthly reports provide statistics relating to the number of consents and refusals over the period and breaks down proposed net investment figures, total considerations and land area figures into tables by industry, country and New Zealand region. They also provide a list of all approved and refused applications grouped by proposed industry relating to that period.
