The Overseas Investment Office administers the New Zealand Government's foreign investment policies. The core work of the Office is to assess applications for consent from foreigners who intend making substantial investments in New Zealand.
Decision on Vector Wellington network sale
16 July 2008
Finance Minister Michael Cullen has given consent to the joint bid by Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited and Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited to acquire up to 100 percent of the shares of Vector Wellington Electricity Network Limited.

Decision on Nutritek Overseas Pte Ltd's Bid to Increase its Shareholding in New Zealand Dairies Ltd

The Finance Minister, Michael Cullen and the Minister for Land Information, David Parker, have given Nutritek consent to increase its shareholding in New Zealand Dairies Limited.

How to present a consent application

The Overseas Investment Office uses several electronic tools (including an electronic document management system) for processing applications. In order to make the best use of these tools, the Office requires an electronic copy of every application as well as a hard copy. If an application is not presented electronically, Office staff must manually scan it which can delay the processing of applications.
To enable the Office to easily access hard copy material the preferred format is plain paper held together with a clip. Material that is bound or in ring binders, plastic sleeves or file dividers can be difficult to copy and use. More info...
